Applicants to the Graduate School of Environmental Studies must decide on the course to apply and contact the Supervisor before submitting the Application Form.

◙ Examination Conduct

The Department of Earth and Environmental Science has been evaluating an examinee’s English ability by the score of TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or TOEIC(Test of English for International Communication)since the entrance exam for Spring 2015. From the entrance examination (Second Calling) for Spring 2016, which will be conducted by the Department of Earth and Environmental Science and the Department of Environmental Engineering and Architecture (Spatial Planning and Environment Course / Materials and Environment Course), the score of IELTS(International English Language Testing System)will also be accepted as an English evaluation. The examinee who would like to take an entrance examination (Second Calling) for the Architecture Course must take an English test on site.

For the entrance examination in 2018, you must submit the score of the test taken on or after August 1st, 2016. For the entrance examination in 2019, you must submit the score of the test taken on or after February 1st, 2017.

The original score must be one of the following test results:
-“Examinee Score Report” of TOEFL CBT (Computer-Based Test), PBT (Paper-Based Test), or iBT (Internet-Based Test).
-“Official Score Certificate” of TOEIC (Listening & Reading Test)
-“Test Report Form” of IELTS (Academic Module)

Please contact the faculty of the course of your choice before applying via e-mail.

To receive an application package, please send us a self-addressed envelope (32 x 24 cm, for A4 size). Please affix the appropriate Postage on the envelope as shown below:
•Application for all courses, 380 yen
Please also state which course you are applying for on the envelope. For example:
• "Application for Master's Course for April Admission 2019"
• "Application for Doctoral Course for April Admission 2019"

◙ For applicants overseas

For application by International mail return by AIRMAIL: (6~13 days)
To receive an application package, please send us a self-addressed envelope (32 x 24 cm, for A4 size). Please enclose IRC for an adequate total amount of Postage as below:

Research Student Program

Eligibility

To enroll as a research student at the Graduate School of Environmental Studies, basically you must have completed a master’s program, or you will be expected to complete a master’s program by the time of enrollment. However, applicants who have a bachelor’s degree might have chance to apply for a research student (program) through a preliminary screening (Not always granted). Application periods for the preliminary screening are as follows (For more details, please refer to the latest requirement). If you would like to take the preliminary screening, make early contact with your academic supervisor first to get his/her informal consent, and let us know at the address below.

Application Procedures

To apply for a research student (program), you must have your academic supervisor’s informal consent first. Once you have got his/her consent, let us know at the address below. We’ll send you admission procedure requirements via email. As for the applicants who have been successfully pass the preliminary screening need to apply for the research student program anew.
